There’s been a slight improvement over the last week or so, but results continue to be patchy and all fish hard earned at the present time.
Lee Booker got his trip off to a spectacular start with the capture of a 150lber, taken well down the Delta on an eel fished tight into the margins. The fish gave a timid take which we initially suspected to be a kitten, but it was soon powering off down the reed beds! A great fight followed and Lee was delighted to bag a fish just short of his 158lb PB.
The week has continued to offer just one or two chances most days, and other notable captures have been a 107 for Lee taken close to the islands on mullet, with Gary Greenhill’s best offering a 97lber. Other fish have been mid sized and small.
The lads provided us with our first funny moment of the year – while following a Sat-Nav to get to us from Barcelona Airport, they at one stage crossed the border into France, having failed to add the L’ to L’Ampolla when entering their destination!
