Lower Ebro Catfishing…. Latest catch Reports…. mid April 2018

The long wait for the first 200lb Catfish from the Amposta / Deltebre section ended last week with the capture of this mighty 218lb fish by one of our regular visitors, Lee Wilkinson. The fish accepted a bait on a known hot-spot in the lower Delta section (which will now be referred to as the WILKY WAY) and put up an outrageous fight in flood water conditions, being boated well… Read More »Lower Ebro Catfishing…. We’re talking about full flood conditions now with the Ebro surging through at a tremendous pace with chocolate ???? brown water. Not that the Catfish seem to mind, and there has been another capture of a monster fish yesterday for Mark Wilkinson with this impressive new personal best of 175 lb, caught on the first day of the holiday. Locating the Catfish in these conditions is not too difficult as… Read More »Lower Ebro Catfishing…. latest catch reports…. mid April 2018

Lower Ebro Catfishing…. Latest Catch Reports…. Late March 2018

An excellent trip this year for the ‘ambulance crew’ of Martin Campbell, Del Elliott & Ray Jennings who have all bagged treble figure Catfish in a 3 day trip. The first day belonged to Martin, who took a couple of fish on the legered chicken approach, with baits fished close to the margin up stream of Amposta. The first was a modest sized 55lber, but this was followed by a… Read More »Lower Ebro Catfishing…. Latest Catch Reports…. Late March 2018

Lower Ebro Catfishing…. Latest Catch Reports…. Mid March 2018

A pretty good start to the season this week saw 9 Catfish caught, which is a decent return with the water temperature still cold and below 10 degrees. The river is running fairly high after the deluge of rain and snow across the entire Iberian peninsular earlier in the month. This is a really positive thing because the extra flow has pushed out the brackish water which has been creeping… Read More »Lower Ebro Catfishing…. Latest Catch Reports…. Mid March 2018

Lower Ebro Catfishing…. Latest Catch Reports…. Early October 2017

The fishing in October has been quite difficult this season, with an Indian summer leaving us with a warm, clear river to contend with and the Catfish seemingly not too interested in feeding. However, where there is a will there is a way, and some drift fishing way up stream at Tortosa, beyond our usual haunts, has produced a handful of fish, including a couple of JUMBO sized ones. Khan… Read More »Lower Ebro Catfishing…. Latest Catch Reports…. Early October 2017

Lower Ebro Catfishing…. Latest Catch Reports…. Mid September 2017

The action has been thin on the ground again this week, with the Catfish seemingly less hungry in the cooler water as we come into the autumnal season. Thankfully the majority of the chances that have come our way have been converted, with long waits imbetween bites. Fish of the week was a 158lber caught by Richard Lawrence, who also caught a known fish ‘White Whiskers’ at 128 later in… Read More »Lower Ebro Catfishing…. Latest Catch Reports…. Mid September 2017
